Instructions
Mix first 7 ingredients in medium glass bowl. Season sauce to taste with salt and pepper. (Sauce can be prepared 2 days ahead. Cover and refrigerate.)
Prepare barbecue (medium-high heat).
Place carrot in medium bowl. Cover with ice water.
Let stand 15 minutes, then drain well.
Brush fish on all sides with 2 tablespoons oil.
Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Grill until just opaque in center, about 4 minutes per side.
Meanwhile, heat 1 tablespoon oil in large nonstick skillet over medium heat.
Add shallot; stir 1 minute.
Add tatsoi; sprinkle with salt. Toss until tatsoi is wilted but still bright green, about 2 minutes; divide among 4 plates.
Sprinkle each fillet with carrot; drizzle each with 2 tablespoons sauce.
Serve, passing remaining sauce separately.
Recommended wine: Pinot Grigio, Gruener Veltliner, Pinot Noir
Pinot Grigio, Gruener Veltliner, and Pinot Noir are great choices for Halibut. Fish is as diverse as wine, so it's hard to pick wines that go with every fish. A crisp white wine, such as a pinot grigio or Grüner Veltliner, will suit any delicately flavored white fish. Meaty, strongly flavored fish such as salmon and tuna can even handle a light red wine, such as a pinot noir. The Skyfall Pinot Gris with a 4.8 out of 5 star rating seems like a good match. It costs about 13 dollars per bottle.
Skyfall Pinot Gris
Pale straw in color with notes of mango, citrus blossom and banana in the nose. On the palate a medley of tropical fruit unfolds into tangerine, mango, grapefruit, and banana flavors. These tropical notes continue throughout the long and lingering finish.
