Instructions
In a large bowl, cream the butter, shortening and sugars until light and fluffy. Beat in egg. Beat in vanilla.
Combine the flour, soda and salt; gradually add to creamed mixture and mix well. Stir in chocolate and nuts. Cover and chill dough for 1 hour.
Drop by heaping tablespoonfuls about 3 in. apart on ungreased baking sheets.
Bake at 350° for 12-14 minutes or until lightly browned.
