Instructions
Drain cherries, reserving 1 tablespoon juice for frosting. Chop cherries and pat dry; set aside. In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar. Beat in egg and vanilla.
Combine the flour, baking soda and salt; add to creamed mixture alternately with sour cream. Stir in cherries.
Drop by tablespoonfuls 2 in. apart onto greased baking sheets.
Bake at 350° for 12-15 minutes or until lightly browned.
Remove to wire racks to cool.
For frosting, in a bowl, combine the confectioners' sugar, sour cream and reserved cherry juice until smooth.
Sprinkle with colored sugar if desired.
