Instructions
In a large bowl, cream shortening and brown sugar. Beat in the egg, milk and vanilla. Beat in chocolate until blended.
Combine the flour, baking powder, salt and baking soda; gradually add to the creamed mixture. Stir in walnuts.
Drop by tablespoonfuls 2 in. apart onto ungreased baking sheets.
Bake at 350° for 11-13 minutes or until firm.
Remove to wire racks to cool.
For frosting, in a bowl, cream butter and sugar. Beat in vanilla and enough milk to achieve spreading consistency. Frost cooled cookies.
