Recommended wine: Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Gruener Veltliner

Salad can be paired with Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and Gruener Veltliner. Sauvignon Blanc and Gruner Veltliner both have herby notes that complement salads with enough acid to match tart vinaigrettes, while a Chardonnay can be a good pick for creamy salad dressings. The Maximin Grunhauser Herrenberg Riesling Spatlese with a 4.8 out of 5 star rating seems like a good match. It costs about 50 dollars per bottle.

Maximin Grunhauser Herrenberg Riesling Spatlese
The Herrenberg Spatlese is always the flashiest wine at Grunhaus as the vineyards red slate soils render a more lush, slightly lower acid riesling that its bigger brother Abstberg. Spatlese sweet with explosive aromas and flavors of red delicious apples, yellow peaches, strawberry/rhubarb and salty minerals. Full bodied for a riesling, serve with a Virginia baked ham, a spicy lamb curry or just a traditional Jaeger schnitzel.
