Tuna Summer Rolls
Tuna Summer Rolls might be just the hor d'oeuvre you are searching for. One serving contains 177 calories, 10g of protein, and 2g of fat. This recipe serves 8. It can be enjoyed any time, but it is especially good for The Fourth Of July. A mixture of tuna steak, jalapeño pepper, shallots, and a handful of other ingredients are all it takes to make this recipe so delicious. It is a good option if you're following a gluten free, dairy free, and pescatarian diet. From preparation to the plate, this recipe takes approximately 45 minutes.
Instructions
To prepare rolls, rinse the rice thoroughly in a sieve.
Drain well. Bring 1 1/4 cups water to a boil in a medium saucepan; add rice. Cover, reduce heat, and simmer 20 minutes or until liquid is absorbed.
Remove from heat, and let stand 5 minutes. Stir in ginger, mirin, minced jalapeo pepper, shallots, sugar, fish sauce, and salt.
Combine soy sauce and 1 teaspoon sugar; brush over tuna. Marinate in refrigerator 10 minutes.
Heat a nonstick skillet over medium-high heat.
Add tuna to pan; cook 1 1/2 minutes on each side or until desired degree of doneness.
Cut tuna into 8 (1/4-inch-thick) slices.
Add hot water to a large, shallow dish to a depth of 1 inch.
Place 1 rice paper sheet in dish.
Let stand 30 seconds or just until soft.
Place sheet on a flat surface. Arrange 1/4 cup watercress to cover half of sheet, leaving a 1/2-inch border. Top with 1/3 cup rice mixture; spread evenly. Arrange 1 tuna slice over rice. Fold sides of sheet over filling; starting with filled side, roll up jelly-roll fashion. Repeat procedure with remaining rice paper sheets, watercress, rice mixture, and tuna.
Cut each roll in half diagonally.
To prepare sauce, combine vinegar and remaining ingredients. Arrange 2 roll halves on each of 8 plates; serve 2 1/4 teaspoons sauce with each serving.
Recommended wine: Merlot, Pinot Noir, Rose Wine
Merlot, Pinot Noir, and rosé Wine are my top picks for Tuna. Though fish is often paired with white wine, 'meatier' fish like tuna can absolutely go with red wine. A Rosé will also pair nicely, particularly if your tunan is prepared with ingredients better suited to a white wine. The Peju Province Merlot with a 4.5 out of 5 star rating seems like a good match. It costs about 38 dollars per bottle.

Peju Province Merlot
Deep ruby in color, the 2016 Merlot offers fragrant, layered aromas of juicy pomegranate, baking spice, and a hint of cedar. Lush fruits of cherry and blackberry envelop the palate. Soft hints of toasted almond and vanilla culminate with an elegant finish. Delicious now, this Merlot will continue to mature for the next 6-8 years.Blend: 95% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Sauvignon, 1% Petit Sirah
