In a large heavy skillet, combine the flour and oil until smooth. Cook and stir over medium heat until flour is a rich deep brown.
Add the onion, green pepper and celery; cook for 5-6 minutes or until vegetables are tender.
Add garlic; cook 1 minute longer. Stir in the tomatoes, tomato paste, bay leaves, Worcestershire sauce, hot pepper sauce, salt and pepper. Cover and simmer for 45-50 minutes or until heated through.
Add shrimp. Simmer, uncovered, for 5-6 minutes or until shrimp turn pink. Discard bay leaves.
Recommended wine: Pinot Grigio, Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc
Pinot Grigio, Riesling, and Sauvignon Blanc are my top picks for Shrimp. These crisp white wines work well with shrimp prepared in a variety of ways, whether grilled, fried, or in garlic sauce. The Lange Winery Pinot Gris with a 4.9 out of 5 star rating seems like a good match. It costs about 22 dollars per bottle.

Lange Winery Pinot Gris
A "stainless-steel sister" to Lange's Reserve Pinot Gris, the 2015 is a classic - showing riper, tropical fruits characteristic of this hotter vintage while retaining a beautiful presence of fine acidity throughout.
