Cincinnati Chili
You can never have too many American recipes, so give Cincinnati Chili A mixture of sugar, oregano, chili powder, and a handful of other ingredients are all it takes to make this recipe so flavorful. It can be enjoyed any time, but it is especially good for The Super Bowl. From preparation to the plate, this recipe takes roughly 2 hours and 5 minutes.
Instructions
In a Dutch oven, cook the beef, pork and onions over medium heat until meat is no longer pink.
Add garlic; cook 1 minute longer.
Add the beans, tomatoes, vinegar, cocoa and seasonings; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 1-1/2 hours or until heated through.
Garnish with cheese, sour cream, tomatoes and onions.
Recommended wine: Cava, Shiraz, Grenache
Cava, Shiraz, and Grenache are my top picks for Chili. These juicy reds don't have too much tannin (important for spicy foods), but a sparkling wine like cava can tame the heat even better. You could try Masia Puigmolto Can Xa Brut Cava. Reviewers quite like it with a 5 out of 5 star rating and a price of about 14 dollars per bottle.
